Lamp

Lighting a lamp - A simple ritual to invoke positive energies from the Universe to forge a path towards the eternal light of wisdom
Lighting a lamp is an integral part of any function, ceremony or ritual. No inaugural event is complete without the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The act accords a sense of solemnity to the occasion and officially marks the commencement of the function.
When the lamp is lit the individual invokes the God principle from the Universe to preside over the function and grace the venue with positive vibrations. Through this act the individual calls upon his inner resolve and commitment while also looking towards the almighty for his grace for the successful accomplishment of the task on hand.
By lighting the lamp we also purify the premises as the circular motion of the fumes radiating from the flame create a kind of protective aura that prevents negative energies from entering the venue. Thereby we ward off obstructions and negativity that could hinder the success of the function.
The stage is also called ‘the seat of knowledge’. Through the speaker on the stage, it is the God Principle that actually performs the service of imparting knowledge. The lit lamp symbolizes the eternal light of wisdom and truth that burns in perpetuity and seeks to bestow divine knowledge and realisation of God and self to the mortal soul. The lamp is meant to dispel the darkness of worldly illusions and light the path to the supreme truth. Lighting the lamp also invokes the waves of knowledge that get activated on the stage and keeps them active and energised.
